Library associations play a crucial role in the development and enhancement of libraries and the profession as a whole. Looking at the upliftment of library professionals, Government of Gujarat approved and recognized ALP as a state library association in the year 2023. ALP is registered under the office of the Trade Union Act 1926, on 24th January 2023. The registration number is G-6680. The association has its own constitution and all revenue and expenditure accounts undertake auditing by a certified chartered accountant. The President, Vice President, General Secretary, and Treasurer of ALP are elected by the executive committee.
